Krista Popowych, B.HKin, has been inspiring fitness leaders, trainers and managers for over two decades with her motivating and on-trend sessions. As the 2016 (2008 & 2003) canfitpro Fitness Presenter of the Year award recipient and the 2014 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year award winner, Krista has shown an outstanding commitment to fitness education. A highly sought after instructor, trainer and educator, Krista is the Global Director of Group Education for Keiser. She is also a recognized TV personality, DVD creator and an Adidas 3-stripe team sponsored member. As a published author, professional speaker and advocate for cancer research fundraising, Krista spreads her passion for fitness across the globe. Her goal has always been to inspire others through education and movement, and she does that with her creative sessions and real-life approach to fitness!

Krista Popowych, B.HKin is a renowned presenter, consultant and instructor on group fitness, personal training and fitness management in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. A long-­‐time fan and an international master trainer for Keiser since 2000, Krista was recruited in 2016 as their Global Director of Group Education. In 2014, Krista received the prestigious IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year award. IDEA Health and Fitness Association is the world`s leading organization of fitness and wellness professionals. This award, announced at the IDEA World Fitness Convention™, recognizes the top fitness industry leader who strives for excellence, shows an outstanding commitment to their clients and communities, and spreads their passion for fitness across the globe. Once again in 2016 (2008 and 2003) Krista was recognized for her countless contributions to the continual education of fitness professionals across Canada as the Canadian Presenter of the Year and was honored at the canfitpro World Fitness Expo. Grateful for the recognition, Krista continues to stay true to her mission of inspiring others through movement and education, each and every day. With over two decades of industry experience, Krista is as passionate about fitness now as she was the first time she ever taught a fitness class. As the long-­‐term program director at the iconic Fitness Group situated in the heart of Vancouver, she was instrumental in the promotion of fitness within her community and beyond. Krista was then contracted pre-­‐2010 Olympics as the Programs and Services Manager at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Krista’s leadership was inspirational in helping with the development and growth of the fitness, training and customer care team for a 500,000 square foot Olympic Legacy fitness, health and sport facility. As a dynamic and inspiring fitness instructor, Krista hosted and co-­‐hosted over 100 fitness shows of the Caribbean Workout -­‐ the longest running and most widely televised Canadian health and fitness show, reaching over 35 million households world-­‐wide. She has also co-­‐hosted other shows and has been a celebrity guest trainer promoting how exercise can positively change someone’s life. In addition, IHRSA and the editors of CBI (Club Business International Magazine) chose Krista to appear in a special feature entitled “25 Fresh Faces.” This feature highlighted the up-­‐and-­‐coming, promising leaders of the fitness club industry. Krista also speaks professionally for various organizations. She is an ADIDAS-­‐sponsored, 3-­‐Stripe Team member. She is featured on over 20 DVD’s including Go! Vitality Series, JumpSport® Kids Fitness Challenge, plus numerous management and workshop DVD’s with titles such as Creating Longevity in the Fitness Industry, Triple Training, The ‘Wow’ Factor, Developing a 5-­‐Star Business, Get Fit Quick! and many more. In addition to being a freelance fitness writer, health & fitness columnist and the past Editor for Fitness Trainer 2 Canada magazine, Krista is an accomplished fitness professional and IDEA member, who holds certifications from Can-­‐Fit-­‐Pro as a Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS), Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS) and Program Director Specialist (PDS) and the BCRPA (TFL) Trainer of Fitness Leaders. Krista has been on the Advisory Panel for Can-­‐Fit-­‐Pro since 2000 and is the Canadian representative for IDEA’s Group Fitness Committee from 2000-­‐2017. Krista has been involved with the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) School of Human Kinetics Alumni program where she mentors university students entering into the field of health and fitness. Krista is very passionate about connecting with children through ‘get active’ initiatives. Whether it is providing up-­‐beat and fun warms up at school rallies and sporting events, or teaching weekly Kids Yoga and ‘super-­‐hero’ workouts, Krista volunteers her time to promote the benefits of giving children healthy outlets through exercise. She has volunteered to be a guest presenter at the Workout to Conquer Cancer (2015-­‐2017) and over $700K has been raised for the fight against cancer. In her spare time, Krista spreads her energy, smile and zest for life with her son, daughter, husband, family and friends.
